I love starting new things.
There’s an energy you get from the first few steps of a new project that is unlike anything else. But the trouble is keeping that excitement going once that initial dopamine hit is gone, especially when simply talking about a project gives nearly as much pleasure as working on it, with none of the effort. It is so easy to get lost in the stories we tell about ourselves, where there’s no risk of failure.
In the upcoming weeks, I’ll be diving into the various projects I’ve been working on. In each post I’ll discuss what I’m doing and how I’m going about it, but most importantly I’ll be trying to determine why I’m doing it in the first place. I’m still at an early stage in my life, trying to decide what opportunities I should allow to pull me in. By figuring out why I do what I already do, I hope to determine why I should do whatever I do next.
So, no more ado. Here are some of the projects I’ll be bringing out into the light:
- UX design and being a CSR
- Dungeon design
- Modern mixtapes
- Post-it art
- Developing an RPG system (from a usability perspective)
See you soon!
